The Study Visit has brought together local government officials, international experts,
MSME owners, academia, and officials who are working or want to gain knowledge on pri-
ority areas for specific sectors undertaking training and observation visits. The Study Visit in
Darkhan also discussed the approach to the next visit to Europe.
As the Study Visit in Darkhan aimed to introduce the current situation of Darkhan city,
the delegation visited the SMEs, university and research institute, and assets of Darkhan-Uul
Province Municipality for the scoping of priority areas and topics within the scope of the
FRIENDSHIP project for inter-regional partnership-based initiatives. Following companies
and institutions were covered:

Local light industries:

3. Eco Wool LLC, sheep wool construction insulation material production

Local heavy industries:
1. Darkhan Thermal Power Station

1. The Institute of Plant and Agricultural Sciences

Each site visit was followed by both-party discussions for potential cooperation opportunities.
Considering the result of the first Study Visit and the capacity of the partnering cities, the fol-
lowing three industrial entrepreneurs were strategically selected and invited to visit EU cities
and learn best practices during the second Study Visit, which will be held in Europe between
October 30 and November 9, 2022.
