Municipal services water, sanitation, energy (participatory e-governance and infrastructure provisions)

Within the IV Pillar of the FRIENDSHIP project, co-funded by the European Union, 4 pilot projects have been selected for implementation in 2 fields: supporting Social / IT Entrepreneurship and Municipal services water, sanitation, and energy (participatory e-governance and infrastructure provisions). Darkhan Redevelopment Authority local government-owned entity successfully participated in the pilot project to support Municipal services in water, sanitation, and energy (participatory e-governance and infrastructure provisions) and was selected as one of the best 2 project proposals and received a contract to receive the financial and technical support of up to 100,000,000 MNT.

Project name: Unified implementation of direction and consumer connection layout of underground service for households in Baghs 5 and 8 of Darkhan Soum, Darkhan-Uul province

The goal of the project is to organize the activities of budget, direction, and consumer connection layout of underground service and integrated technical conditions in the target area in Darkhan Soum, Darkhan-Uul Province.

Beneficiaries: These 4,728 citizens of 1,113 households reside in 845 units in Narantolgoi, Mankhantolgoi of Bagh 8 and Khunsnii Ar area of Bagh 5 of Darkhan Soum, where the project will be implemented.

In addition, with the implementation of the project:

  1. We will reach out to all households of the project implementation location. Their suggestions will be included in the project.
  2. As technical conditions issue, the real estate value of the location will increase.
  3. With an increase in real estate value, the amount of loans to citizens will increase, and with it, the number of households connected to the underground service will increase.
  4. With an increase in the number of households connected to the underground service, the central water and heat supply station of Mankhantolgoi of Bagh 8 and Khunsnii Ar area of Bagh 5 will start operating.
  5. Households in the Narantolgoi area of Bagh 8 will be able to be supplied with hot water for consumption in the summer.
  6. Households will have a comfortable living environment in their yard.

Project name: Model Neighborhood

The goal of the project is to educate the public about green consumption culture and waste, to enlighten the public, to develop knowledge and habits to properly classify waste at the source, to create conditions for citizens to live in a healthy, safe, and clean environment, to improve their quality of life, and to create a “Model Neighborhood”, as reflected in the “Waste Management Master Plan 2022-2032”.

Beneficiaries: Citizens, households, and enterprise organizations of 9th and 10th Bagh of Darkhan Soum who will implement the project are direct beneficiaries, and all citizens of Darkhan Sum will also benefit from the idea that all teams will be able to live in a garbage-free environment in the future.

Furthermore, the implementation of this project will establish the foundation for enhancing Darkhan City’s waste management, elevating it to a new standard. Additionally, it will yield advantages for the local economy and foster green development, thereby contributing to social welfare through the collective engagement of all Darkhan City residents.
