• Ajdovscina is home to a branch of the University of Ljubljana, which has introduced innovative technologies such as smart irrigation systems and smart pest monitoring to its agriculture. The intelligent pest control system has AI-based technology to classify and locate pests in a field by group and species, perform appropriate extermination, and determine next year’s pest spread.
• We also visited a family business with a history of 50 years. The company, which manufactures stainless steel tanks used in food processing, pharmaceutical and plant essence industries, sources its raw materials from other European countries and India. Simon Skrlj, the director of the factory, said that if there is a partner to work with in Mongolia, we would be happy to work together.
• We also visited the Leone ice cream and chocolate factory, which is famous not only in Slovenia but also in Europe. Kristjan Jeroncic and Tamara Juricic Bellomo, marketing managers of the factory, gave very detailed information about the plant. This company intends to cooperate with APU. With excellent marketing, this company started its operations in 1991 from a small garage, but now it has grown to a large factory with more than 600 workers.
