VISITED THE ISTANBUL DEVELOPMENT AGENCY.
There are a total of 26 development agencies operating in Turkey, and the Istanbul Development Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Technology is the largest and has the widest range of activities. It operates in 3 main areas: supporting regional development, identifying resources, and supporting cooperation.
It is a powerful organization that raised 1 million dollars in investment in the shortest period of time and created companies like Unicorn and Decacorn, whose sales exceeded 100 million dollars in just 3 years. It has achieved this success by working on the principles of supporting knowledge-based economic development, equal access to society, and creative production. This experience makes us understand that cooperation between the government, universities, scientific institutions and the private sector is important in creating such a business ecosystem.
